NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - First American Insurance Agency wanted to make a donation. So they asked the Soldier On Program what they needed the most.

The Soldier On Program said they need toiletries. First American Insurance Agency gathered donations from employees and bought over 100 pairs of shower shoes, 50 bottles of shampoo, 50 razors, and 50 toothbrushes.

The Soldier On Program helps veterans get back on their feet when they hit tough times. First American Insurance Agency President Corey Murphy told 22News this is a cause that he wanted to help out.

"I was in the service myself. So I think there's a sense of duty to help those that came back and need a little bit of extra help and support," said Murphy.

"This donation will uplift the hearts of a lot of veterans who are here on their first couple of days," said VA Medical Center Senior V.P. Mike Hagmaier.

Donations were made in honor of Veteran's Day.
