The Berkshire Veterans Residence in Pittsfield provides a more self-reliant option to those veterans who have successfully progressed through the Leeds program. Organized and operated by veterans, this facility provides greater independence as well as the opportunity to work in a construction company created by Soldier On residents and based at the transitional living facility.
For those housed in Pittsfield who need clinical services, Soldier On provides aftercare counseling and transportation to medical appointments.
With the pending addition of The Gordon H. Mansfield Veterans Community, Pittsfield, Soldier On will offer veterans who are ready the opportunity to take the final step in the transition from homelessness to home ownership. Veterans Village, a first-of-its-kind limited equity housing project, will provide formerly homeless veterans the opportunity to own their homes surrounded by a community of support and the services they need. The Gordon H. Mansfield Veterans Community, Pittsfield will neighbor the Berkshire Veterans Residence.
A second Gordon H. Mansfield Veterans Community, project planned for Leeds will allow us to extend the opportunity to move from homlessness to home ownership to an even larger population of formerly homeless veterans.
