Soldier On is a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization (Federal Tax ID: 27-3582131) dedicated to ending homelessness among veterans. Since 1994, we have provided transitional and emergency housing paired with critical supportive services, including case management, medical and dental care coordination, mental health and addiction treatment, financial literacy education, and transportation assistance.
In addition, Soldier On operates a mobile, door-to-door outreach program through Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF), assisting veterans and their families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness throughout New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Massachusetts. Since 2011, more than 14,000 veterans in New Jersey alone have received case management, referrals, and temporary financial assistance to help stabilize their housing.
Across our affordable housing communities, Soldier On currently provides housing and wraparound support services to 525 veterans, ensuring long-term stability through on-site supportive services as well as transportation, wellness services, legal assistance, and end-of-life care.
As a reminder, Shelter Our Soldiers formally joined under the Soldier On banner last year as part of an evolution of our partnership and shared values. We’re proud to continue sharing the housing programs and services Soldier On provides, along with new and expanded initiatives now underway.
