Life has been good since my time with Soldier On, to this day my Case Manager Josh Ziccarelli continues to be an enormous amount of support. I had a very steep hill to climb and Soldier On provided me with the tools needed to make that steep incline. Since then, I’ve been going in the right direction. On February 9, 2026, I closed on my first VA home loan.

Becoming a first time Veteran homeowner at this point in my life would not have happened without the continued support of Solder On and its free Financial Counseling team. During my consultations, any time I had any questions or concerns I could depend on MMI Financial Coach Mark McBride. Knowing I had that type of support helped me calm down, and it was easy for me to just follow positive directives. Seeing my financial situation improve overtime, which was a huge plus for me. Today I have a credit score of 751, having my credit in excellent status helped me pursue my first VA home loan purchase.

Now that I become I homeowner and have my budget and finances in control. Being financially stable at this point in my life is a great feeling. It makes me proud to know I can have my own car, cover the cost of that car, and a beautiful home to call my own.

With my financial situation, the rental assistance I received in the beginning from Soldier On helped the most, without that assistance, I would not have been able to save money for a home or a car. Lasty, from my own personal situation with limited resources, having someone to talk with about any issue, a real person was just as helpful as the rental assistance. I could always reach my case manager or financial team, believe me having that type of support is worth more than money.

I would like to pay my mortgage off early, and I need a new roof which will be my next financial project. I would also like to get some livestock. After that, I will be perfect.

Absolutely.
